Q: What is the purpose of this committee?
A: The purpose of this committee is to review the current list of vendors that the HOA uses and propose alternatives to either save cost or to promote a better service to the community. The committee will also look at the budget and provide suggestions to the board on what changes they would like to see to help reduce unnecessary costs for the community.
Q: Who can join?
A: Any renter or homeowner in the community.
Q: I want to help make changes or learn about how the HOA runs, but don't want the responsibility of a board member. Is this for me?
A: Yes! An HOA committee is a wonderful way to help make the HOA your HOA. The HOA is as strong and should reflect the members of the community.
Joining the committee also allows you to meet other members of the community and work towards a common goal that everyone is passionate about.
Q: Where is it taking place?
A: We will be meeting in the private park of our community in the warmer months. During the colder months, we will meet online.
Q: I don't like our current landscaper, management company, or any other vendor. May I suggest a new one for the HOA to use?
A: Yes, changing big vendors like landscapers or management companies requires a large amount of research. Because the HOA board consists of volunteers and some with full-time jobs. Not all will have time to look into each one and gather bids.
The hope is that this committee will find a list of vendors. Which they have looked at reviews, spoke with other communities who already use their service, and ensure that they will provide good quality service for the community when recommending them to the board.
Please note that in order for the HOA to use a vendor, they will need any required licenses and insurance. Please don't hesitate to join one of the committee meetings to propose your idea!
Q: Can the meeting time and date change if everyone who attends wants to meet at a different time or more frequently?
A: Yes! We can change the meeting time, date, or frequency at any time with a majority vote of the attendees.
Q: I can't make it in person during the warmer months, but still want to participate.
A: You can join our Google Meet virtual meeting, and we will have a phone/laptop during the physical meetings, which allows you to participate.
